About Dr. Bellamy

Dr. Deitra Bellamy graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School Dentistry in 1995. After graduation from dental school, Dr. Bellamy worked as an associate dentist in the Northern Virginia area for 10 years. While there, she volunteered with the Mission of Mercy project which provided free dental care to the needy residents of Northern Virginia, Give Kids a Smile day, and served on the Access to Dental Care Committee. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Association of Women Dentist and the Southern Maryland Dental Society.

Dr. Bellamy has received training from Align Technology and is certified to provide Invisalign in her office. Invisalign is the clear alternative to traditional braces.

Dr. Bellamy is currently receiving training in Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry from the Las Vegas Institute and is working towards her mastership.

Dr. Deitra Bellamy is married to Brian, a firefighter in Prince Georges County, Maryland and has one daughter, Brianna. Bellamy Family Dentistry has been serving patients in the Crofton/Gambrills/Bowie area since January 2005. Our primary goal, whenever possible is the retention of your healthy, natural teeth. To accomplish this, we need your cooperation. Therefore, we hope to achieve a clear, mutual understanding by keeping you informed at all times.

During your first visit, a thorough examination will be completed. This exam will include necessary digital x-rays, photographs as well as the use of other aids, which may be necessary in order to make an accurate diagnosis of your mouth, teeth and gums. In most instances, your dental condition will be determined at this visit, and a suitable treatment plan will be discussed with you.The doctor will also prescribe the type of professional teeth cleaning needed and the time to be allotted. In most cases, the professional teeth cleaning will be completed by one of our hygienist during a subsequent visit.
